100 YouTube Video Ideas for 2026 (Faceless and On-Camera)
Here are 100 YouTube video ideas, split into two groups: 50 you can make without ever showing your face, and 50 that work best on camera. In each section, the ideas a beginner can make this week (no special gear, no audience needed) are marked (easy). If you only read one thing: pick ideas that answer a question someone would type into YouTube search, because a brand-new channel gets almost no browse traffic.
Use this list as a starting point, then check the ideas against what people are already searching for. There's a section on that at the end.
How to use these YouTube video ideas
An idea is a format, not a video. "Explain a historical event" becomes a video once you add a specific event, a title someone would click, and a reason to watch to the end. For each idea you like, write three titles before you make anything. If you can't think of three, the idea is too vague for your channel.
Also think about length. YouTube lets you add mid-roll ad breaks only on videos 8 minutes or longer, so formats that naturally run 8 to 15 minutes (stories, explainers, rankings) give you more ad slots once you're monetized.
Faceless YouTube video ideas (1-50)
These run on narration, visuals, screen recordings, or your hands. Most can be made with a script, a voiceover, and images or stock footage. For whole channel concepts instead of single videos, see our faceless YouTube channel ideas.

Faceless videos still take work. The narration, visuals, and editing replace your face, so a 10-minute story can take a few hours by hand. Tools help with that part. VidPuff, for example, takes a title, writes the script, adds narration, a visual for each scene, music, and captions, and lets you review and change each stage before it renders a long-form video.
On-camera YouTube video ideas (51-100)
These lean on your face, voice, and personality. They build trust faster, but you need to be comfortable on camera and have decent light and sound.
If you'd rather make videos than read about it, VidPuff turns a title into a faceless video. No waitlist, cancel anytime.

How to find YouTube video ideas viewers are searching for
A list gets you started. After a few videos, use data.
- YouTube search autocomplete. Type the start of a topic in your niche and note what YouTube suggests. Those are real searches.
- The Trends tab in YouTube Studio. Under Analytics, it shows top searches from your audience over the last 28 days and flags content gaps, which YouTube defines as searches where viewers "can't find enough quality search results." Some insights are limited to certain countries, languages, and devices.
- Ask Studio. YouTube's Inspiration tab, which suggested ideas based on your channel, is being phased out starting August 2026. YouTube now points creators to Ask Studio for brainstorming.
- Your comments. Questions people leave under your videos (or under bigger channels in your niche) are free video titles.

FAQ
What are good YouTube video ideas for beginners?
Ideas that need no audience and no gear: a channel trailer, a tutorial on something you already know, a review of a product you use, a story or explainer with a voiceover, or a recipe filmed from above. Anything marked (easy) in the list above fits.
What YouTube videos can I make without showing my face?
Stories, explainers, rankings, screen-recorded tutorials, gameplay, and hands-only videos like cooking or drawing. Ideas 1-50 above all work without a face on screen.
How do I come up with YouTube video ideas when I'm stuck?
Check YouTube autocomplete for your topic, look at the Trends tab in YouTube Studio for what your audience searches, and read the comments on your own and bigger channels' videos. Then write three titles for each idea and keep the ones you'd click.
How long should a YouTube video be?
As long as the idea needs. If you want mid-roll ads later, note that YouTube only allows mid-rolls on videos 8 minutes or longer.
